On Thursday, fair exhibitors finalized their entries and judges got to work handing out ribbons while food vendors and midway ride operators got busy for the 2023 Delaware State Fair.
Part of the yearly tradition is a nightly parade. The Milford High School marching band got the Thursday's parade at the Delaware State Fair started by stepping off near the Centre at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington on a steamy Thursday night.
There were also 4-H clubs represented in the parade, along with antique tractors, a horse-drawn carriage, beauty queens the Delaware State Police Mounted Patrol Unit, and others.
The parade is one of the nightly highlights of the state fair and happens nightly at 7 p.m., starting at the Centre before snaking its way through the fairgrounds.
