GEORGETOWN — The Long Neck communities’ sewer expansion project, described as contract S21-10 by Sussex County officials, is scheduled to appear before County Council on Tuesday, as part of a $1.225 million bond issue.

The bond issue is to cover changes in the Long Neck sewer system, Cannon Road drainage improvements and constructed wetlands, the Joy Beach sewer expansion and the Wolf Neck Regional electrical service and switchgear replacement.

No cost breakdown is provided on the agenda, but that will likely be made public with the publication of the meeting’s packet this week.

According to the county, the project consists of approximately 13,400 lineal feet of 8-inch gravity sewer main; 7,900 lineal feet of 6-inch gravity sewer laterals; 415 vertical feet of 4-inch sanitary sewer manholes; 110 vertical feet of 5-foot diameter sanitary sewer manholes; and a pump station with duplex submersible grinder pumps and approximately 1,800 lineal feet of 3-inch force main.
