Lewes man dies from injuries in three-vehicle crash

MILLSBORO — A 20-year-old Lewes man died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday, Delaware State Police said.

According to police, the man was driving a Cadillac CTS at approximately 4:05 p.m. when it crossed the center line of John J. Williams Highway for unknown reasons and sideswiped an oncoming GMC Terrain. The Cadillac continued eastward and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram, police said.

The Lewes man was taken to an area hospital where he died. On Thursday police identified the victim as Willi Aguilar-Garcia ,

The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

John J Williams Highway between William Street Road and Maryland Camp Road was closed for approximately 2.5 hours as investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.

The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers asked anyone who witnessed this crash to contact Senior Cpl. J. Smith by calling 302-703-3267.
