WYOMING — Saturday’s rain just made the indoors all the cozier at the W3 What Women Want Fest at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club.

The female-centric festival included vendors, light refreshments, a signature cocktail by Wild Quail, a fashion show, door prizes and giveaways in a festive, relaxed atmosphere. The VIP room had even more: full lunch, lattes, goody bags and a mini-spa and sound experience.

Plus, local “celebrity” models strutted their stuff on the runway, each representing a pillar of the central Delaware community in areas like business, nonprofits and government. The Talbots fashion show highlighted spring styles, while honoring the participants’ work and goals.

Two fitness demos also helped pump up endorphins.

“Women need to move. Everyone needs to move, whether you do yoga, walking,” it all counts, said Nancy Hawkins Rigg, the owner of Forever Fit, one of the event’s vendors. Since posture and flexibility maintain fitness, on Saturday, her colleague Cody Martin led stretching exercises with a lighthearted wit to prevent anyone from feeling self-conscious.

Later in the day, representatives of the Jazzercise Dover Fitness Center invited people onto the floor to groove through some exercise routines — precisely the high-energy activity to wrap up the gathering with a bang. Owner Glenenise Parks and Kathy Lingo got the crowd moving and grinning.

The 2024 event was presented by the Daily State News and sponsored by BIG Investment Services, the Seiff Center for Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery, Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Eye Specialists of Delaware and the Delaware Municipal Electric Corp.
