OCEAN VIEW — A 19-year-old Dagsboro man was arrested on a weapons-related offense following an argument Wednesday.

According to Delaware State Police, at approximately 5:13 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 31000 block of Hope Street for a report of disorderly conduct. An investigation revealed that a verbal argument had occurred between an 18-year-old female resident and Timothy Lawrence, her roommate’s boyfriend. During the argument, the female told Mr. Lawrence to leave the residence.

Police said Mr. Lawrence then removed a knife from his pocket and waved it in the female’s face. As he walked toward the door to leave the room, he stabbed the wall with the knife, troopers added.

No one was injured.

Authorities said Mr. Lawrence was later taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with aggravated menacing and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. Mr. Lawrence was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $7,000 secured bond.
