Posted

GEORGETOWN — Georgetown Police on April 14 investigated another crash in The Circle in the heart of the town.

According to a department release, Daniel Jay Tansky, 50, of Millsboro was allegedly operating a Lincoln MKZ eastbound on West Market Street at a high rate of speed. Without slowing or stopping, the vehicle continued into The Circle, striking the curb, a street sign and fire hydrant, which all sustained extensive damage, the release stated.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m.

Mr. Tansky, the only occupant, was treated at an area hospital for injuries. Police charged him with reckless driving, malicious mischief by a motor vehicle and unreasonable speed.

Polic did not specify if the driver was incarcerated.

Several crashes have occurred within the last year in The Circle, including two about a week apart in November 2023.
