This week’s 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury will once again feature artists and crafters lining the streets, live music outside and loads of special activities.

This month’s theme is “Urban Artscapes” – complete with chalk art, scavenger hunts and highlights on public art.

There’s always lots to do at 3rd Friday from art shows to live entertainment – so head Downtown for a night out.

3rd Friday will be celebrating the cityscape this month with chalk art, scavenger hunts, and a public art survey – just stop by the 3rd Friday table for more info and to pick up a gamecard.  Jerome Kelly & The Band will be electrifying the North Division Street stage with their blend of R&B, Pop, Gospel, Rock and Soul, complete with multiple original songs and a message of unity, acceptance, love and transparency.

Jerome Kelly & The Band last performed at Salisbury’s inaugural Pride Parade, and now they are bringing their amazing talent and message of love to the 3rd Friday stage.

On Main Street, artists and crafters will line the streets with their wares and homespun creations.  Salisbury Art Space will host the opening reception for their all-new exhibition “Local Folk” that highlights the amazing work of Delmarva’s local folk artists, sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation and the Whaley Children’s Center.

“Local Folk” will be on display now through Sept. 1, and was planned as a local highlight to coincide with the National Folk Festival coming to Downtown Salisbury the last week of August.

Salisbury Art Space will also be hosting kids crafts in the classroom and pottery demos on Main Street, so be sure to stop by.

Shoppers be sure to check out all the Downtown Salisbury retailers for great end of summer sales. Lilac Clothing Co. is ready for 3rd Friday with an End of Summer Sale, with 20 percent off all summer items to help you stay cool and look amazing.

Blackwater Apothecary will be celebrating 3rd Friday with a meet and greet event with local author Andy Nunez, from 5 to 8 p.m., and a Candle Magic Craft Event at 6 p.m.

Looking for live entertainment this 3rd Friday? SBY Movies on the River is back this month with “SOUL” playing at Riverwalk Amphitheater with a showtime at 8:30 p.m. – just bring your own blanket and popcorn.

Brew River is hosting not one but two bands this 3rd Friday with Mercury Agenda from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Dock Bar, and Goldie’s Kreation from 8 p.m. to midnight inside. Revival is hosting “Dueling Ivories” an all-request rock and roll singalong with tickets on sale for $19 and showtime at 7:30 p.m.

3rd Friday is a Downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in cooperation with the city of Salisbury. There is no charge for artists to participate, but advance registration is required. For more information: 3rdFridaySby.com.
