CRISFIELD — Incumbent City Councilman Eric Banks and Councilwoman Ruthie Todd who since August has been serving to complete former Councilwoman Charlotte Scott’s unexpired term are on the ballot for the June 19 municipal election.

Mr. Banks, the top vote getter in the 2020 election, ran along with Ms. Scott, a former council member, who stepped down in April 2023 after moving outside the city limits. Ms. Todd, who served from 1994-98, received the council’s vote in July to join them. She had last run unsuccessfully for a council seat in 2022.

The challengers are two familiar names: Chamber of Commerce President and business owner Hitesh Patel, and Donald Alcorn, who unsuccessfully ran for mayor in 2022 after the Board of Elections investigated questions about his city residency, now listed as Captain’s Quarter condominiums according to the State Department of Assessments and Taxation.

The filing deadlne was April 1. Any candidate who has not fully completed or turned in a financial disclosure form by Apil 30 will be removed from the ballot.
