CAMBRIDGE – At Cambridge-South Dorchester High School’s home meet April 10, the men earned a win, with a score of 160.5 points. They were followed by Parkside, 67; James M. Bennett, 55.5; Queen Anne’s County, 47; and Easton, 42.

Among the women, Parkside won with 144.58, followed by James M. Bennett with 117.83, C-SD, 38; Queen Anne’s County, 32.58; and Easton, 21. The fractions of points are the result of ties, in which points are divided among the athletes.

In an especially successful event for the Vikings, C-SD’s boys finished first, second and third in discus, as Willie Perez won with a throw of 115’ 5”, followed by Jairyn Lewis, 110’ and Jakuez Snead, 105’ 3.5”. Jacob Forkum rounded out the scoring for the Vikings in this event with a throw of 85’. All the boys’ results were also personal records.

Included in other notable performances by the Vikings was the personal record time of 3:30.0 in the 4x400-meter relay, by Teshar Drummond, Zy’Meir Wilson, Tekai Drummond and Tori Willis Jr.

In triple jump, senior Jayden Smith continued his improvement and dominance, with a personal record distance of 43’ 4.75” for the win. Not far behind was teammate Antonio Blueford, who took second place with 42’ 2.5”. Freshman Jeramiah Robertson displayed the team’s depth and hopes for the future, with a fifth-place finish and a mark of 37’ 7.75”.

For the women, last year’s state champion in triple jump Le’Asia Todd made a statement of her own, with a 35’ 3” mark, three feet ahead of the second-place finisher.

In discus, Kassidy Young hit a personal record, with a throw of 105’ 4” to win the strength event. That distance set a new school record, breaking her own previous mark.
