CAMBRIDGE — Local athletes are thanking administrators of the George B. Todd Fund, after the group made donations to the Cambridge-South Dorchester and North Dorchester high school track and field teams. “The Todd Fund has been very good to us,” C-SD girls’ team Head Coach Lois Narr said. “It’s their mission to support local students in becoming involved in sports.” The fund is part of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. George B. Todd was a successful local businessman, who established the fund to support Dorchester County causes. With track and field comprising 18 events each for boys and girls, there is plenty of gear that needs to be provided for the athletes. They turned out Thursday in uniform to express their gratitude to members of the fund. “The Mid-Shore Community Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity that helps individuals, families, businesses, private foundations and others accomplish their charitable giving objectives,” the foundation’s website said. “The Mid-Shore Community Foundation connects private resources with public needs in order to enhance the quality of life throughout the mid-Shore region - Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties.”
