DELMAR — Stacy Dyson, 41, of Delmar, and Timothy Dyson, 38, and Michael Lecates, 22, both of Laurel, were arrested after an auto shop was burglarized Friday, Delaware State Police said.

According to Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell, troopers investigated a burglary at West Auto, 36609 Sussex Highway. They were called to the scene at approximately 9:25 a.m. and determined that suspects had entered the business through an unsecured window and removed machinery, tools and vehicle parts totaling approximately $11,100.

Ms. Dyson, Mr. Dyson and Mr. Lecates were determined to be suspects and located during a traffic stop for an equipment violation near Relax Inn. Cpl. Hatchell said Mr. Dyson, who was driving, did not have a valid license.

Troopers continued their investigation, and a K-9 responded to scan for illegal substances. After a positive indication from the dog, troopers searched the vehicle and discovered the stolen tools and drugs, he said.

Authorities added that the trio was also connected to a recent residential burglary in Laurel.

All were charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, theft of $1,500 or greater, second-degree conspiracy and theft under $1,500, among other offenses.
Mr. Dyson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on a $9,750 unsecured bond, while Ms. Dyson and Mr. Lecates were released on their own recognizance.
