Sussex Tech High School collaborates with Contractors for a Cause

Posted

GEORGETOWN — Through a partnership with Contractors for a Cause, Sussex Tech High School carpentry students built horse-mounting stairs for the Sonshine Equine Horsemanship and Therapeutic Riding Center in Millsboro.

Last spring, Paul Sciannella, a CFAC volunteer, contacted the school’s carpentry instructor Ed Stough with a request for the build. The project’s materials, delivered directly to Sussex Tech, were purchased through the organization’s general fund.

The stairs were completed and delivered in October 2022 to Sonshine, which works to heal the body, mind and soul through professionally designed, structured equine activities.

Contractors for a Cause is a nonprofit group of local contractors and associates who strive to give back to their community. They identify needs and fulfill them through donations, fundraising, skilled labor and volunteer hours.
