LEWES — The Sussex County Genealogical Society will hold its general meeting next Saturday, electing officers for the 2021-2022 year.
The meeting will be held via Zoom on Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m.
The speaker will be local genealogist, museum curator and food columnist Denise Clemons.
She is the archivist for the Lewes Historical Society and past regent of the Col. David Hall chapter of the DAR.
Ms. Clemons will describe “How to Use the Daughters of the American Revolution Records for Genealogical Research” and will briefly discuss a document entitled “Forgotten Patriots: African American and Native American Patriots in the American Revolution.”

The society will hold its next general meeting on Sept. 18 when Lisa Louise Cooke will discuss “How to Reopen and Work a Genealogical Cold Case.”
During the summer SCGS will continue to host a Q&A on Zoom the first Wednesday of the month.
Beginning Monday, June 7, SCGS will sponsor a six-week discussion group on land records and maps.
