GEORGETOWN — Three nonprofits petitioned County Council this week for funding toward upcoming events, and all three were awarded some money.

First, the Boardwalk Buddy Walk Fund was seeking $7,500 to spend on equipment for its Uncle David’s Ice Cream Shop. It was awarded $500 from the District 3 Fund.

Next, the Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival Inc. asked for $500 toward its MLK Day of Celebration on Jan. 15. This project was fully funded from the District 1 Fund.

Also, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce requested $5,000 for its Fire & Ice Festival, scheduled Jan. 26-28. It received $1,000 from the District 4 fund.
