MILTON — The easternmost 3 miles of Prime Hook Creek at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge will be closed Sept. 1-March 15 for safety concerns due to waterfowl hunting of teal.
Hunting occurs in September in the adjacent Prime Hook State Wildlife Area, as well as during the three seasonal splits of the waterfowl season in federal and state areas and for other management purposes.
The westernmost portion of the creek will be open year-round. Access for boats and canoes is behind Brumbley’s Family RV Park, off Del. 1 near Waples Pond, and at Foord Landing near the refuge’s headquarters.
