State police conducting homicide probe in Blades

BLADES – Delaware State Police are investigating the death of a man found deceased along a roadway in Blades late Saturday night as a homicide.

Around 10:49 p.m. June 19, state police responded to a shots fired complaint in the vicinity of East 4th Street in Blades.

Troopers found a 20-year-old male lying on the side of the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Col. Heather Pepper said.

The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased, Cpl. Pepper said. Identification is pending notification to next of kin.

This is an active case and the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information should contact Det. M. Ryde at 302-741-2730.
