HARRINGTON – On Saturday, over 200 trucks will begin their drive across the region for the 22nd annual Truck Convoy. It is a 29-mile ride across Kent County.

It will begin at the Delaware State Fairgrounds at 10:30 a.m..

The Truck Convoy is raising funds for Special Olympics, a program that enriches lives of over 4,200 athletes in Delaware through year-round sports training, competitions and health-related activities.

This year’s event is organized by Delaware Law Enforcement, with the presenting sponsors Walmart and Perdue. Additional community partners include City of Harrington, Delaware Department of Transportation, Delaware Electric Co-Op, WBOC-16, CoastTV and Fox 21 Delmarva.

“The Truck Convoy is a celebration of community and inclusion, showcasing the incredible support from the trucking industry for our athletes,” said Lisa Smith, senior director of marketing and development for Special Olympics Delaware. “We invite athletes, families and friends to come out and cheer on the trucks as they pass by.

"The connections made between truckers and athletes are what truly make this event special and memorable for everyone involved.”
