Speak Up: State of the base is strong, with Dover’s influence felt around globe

Between Russia’s attack on Ukraine continuing to raise the temperature on global tensions and increasing natural disasters, the airmen at Dover Air Force Base are always on alert. And Col. William “Chris” McDonald, commander of the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover, enjoys discussing the commitment given by the site’s active airmen and reservists. On Nov. 25, he took center stage at the State of the Base briefing, an annual event that brings business, community and military leaders together to boost understanding of the base’s role in local and global affairs.
