Speak Up: Single-use plastic bags

Legislation filed Thursday would close a loophole in Delaware’s ban on plastic bags. House Bill 212 would increase the minimum thickness for a plastic bag to qualify as reusable from 2.25 millimeters to 10 millimeters, beginning Jan. 1.

• Sure, and who will business pass on the price increase to? Everything we buy seems to be wrapped in some type of plastic. Thinking there are bigger issues for Delaware to work on. — Joan Czeizinger-Sherrard
