Surpassing its attendance of several hundred for its first “No Kings” rally June 14, Indivisible Central Delaware organizers counted about 1,300 protesters outside of Legislative Hall on Oct. 18.
Did anyone tell them that we don’t have a king? — Howard Brobst
The funny thing about all the protests is that, this morning, when the world woke up, Donald Trump was still the president. — David Gregg
A difference of opinion is fine; we can still be friends. But, if your disagreement comes at the expense of my rights and safety, and you think you are intrinsically better based on race, sexual orientation or anything else you have no right to judge, then a disagreement isn’t the problem. — Keisha McKeithan
So proud to stand up for democracy and our freedoms! — Carol Murr Russell
Great job, Dover! Protest is patriotic! — Kristin Froehlich
Just remember to vote when it’s time. — Charles White
Clean up the city while you’re all together! — Shirley A. Morris
I think it’s a reasonable turnout or an interesting turnout anyway. What the Democrats need to focus on are policies and some moderate candidates, if they have a chance of regaining control of anything. The attack mode and attacking everything that Trump does, especially when it makes sense, makes them look like fools. — John Sweetman
I truly commend those who protest, but wake up. No one man rules us. — Alejandro Red Beard Zambrana
And they accomplished nothing, except wasting a beautiful Saturday. — John Klein
Maybe they should be more concerned about a bill that would allow homeless individuals in Delaware to set up on the sidewalks in downtown Dover and at the government buildings. How inhuman. Where are they going to wash up or use bathroom facilities? This is the crazy Democrats in charge. People need to wake up. We already have individuals harassing us at Wawa for money. We need to find a solution to the problem. Maybe using abandoned buildings and mental health services to help the homeless population get on the right path. — Carole Gibbs
