The Delaware Senate is slated to meet in special session this fall, to review several appointments by Gov. Matt Meyer. These nominations will likely be announced by Meyer over the next few weeks. The news of the special session was shared with the Daily State News in a statement by Senate President Pro Tempore Dave Sokola, D-Newark, on Aug. 6 — a day after he, House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown, D-New Castle; controller general Ruth Anne Miller; and Delaware Department of Health and Social Services secretary Christen Linke Young met to discuss the Meyer administration’s plans for the state’s Office of the Surgeon General.
