Speak Up: Governor announces mask requirements in Delaware schools
Posted
Gov. John Carney announced last week that everyone in K-12 schools and child care centers must wear face coverings indoors effective Monday, regardless of vaccination status. The requirement covers both public and private schools in Delaware.
So you’re saying the vaccine doesn’t work? Then, why push it? This is why people on the fence won’t get it. This tells them it doesn’t work. — Lezlie Eustis
Many of these kids are too young to be vaccinated. — Debbie Carter
It’s the single-most effective tool, but more than one tool is necessary. A vaccinated person can still transmit to an unvaccinated person. It’s a very, very bad situation, and Kent County is particularly vulnerable due to low vaccination rates. Florida has makeshift MASH-like units for people in line waiting for an ICU bed with clots in their lungs, suffocating, and they are all different ages. Please get the vaccination. — Eileen Patricia
It’s to protect the people that actually can’t get the vaccine due to cancer treatment, immune system problems or age. And the perfectly able people that could actually get the vaccine but don’t because they watched a scary YouTube video. — Wendy Mcallister Reaume
And then, we’ll mandate the kids to have it, and that won’t fix anything. So after that, we’ll mandate everyone to get it, but that won’t fix anything because it’s not a vaccine, it’s a therapeutic. There’s no end to this. — Michael Forcade
Bull crap. The end justifies the means. Everyone get vaccinated to preserve their lives as we develop the necessary antibodies within our systems to eventually battle it with our own immune systems. Many will still die over the next 20-30 years, but only a fraction in comparison to how many will die if the majority of the herd refuse to get vaccinated. — Rick Reed
We are trying to throw bubbles at a fire saying it’s going to work. None of the hocus-pocus will work. It’s only making us “feel” like we are doing something helpful to fight it. We must focus on making healthy decisions on our lives, shedding the excess weight, exercising, eating healthy and taking our vitamins. That’s what we need to do because we are fooling ourselves into believing anything different. — Charese Messina-Pritchett
