Speak Up: Dover Planning Commission suggests denial of pot ordinances

Posted

On Nov. 18, the city’s Planning Commission officially recommended the denial of two oft-discussed marijuana ordinances set for a final vote next month. • It’s very sad that a small group of people being led by Mayor Robin Christiansen’s wife and the lady in the photo, Joan Denney, is controlling what has been legalized by the legislators of Delaware. This small group of people is justifying its opposition based on not liking the odor of marijuana, yet they have not made any complaints about the odor of cigarettes or cigars and have no issue about people drinking alcohol, which is worse medically then marijuana. It’s a shame they haven’t got a clue! — Chris White
