The state Senate passed three significant pieces of legislation March 28, with marijuana legalization and regulation receiving the General Assembly’s final approval in the lawmaking process.
The enactment of House bills 1 and 2 now rely on Gov. John Carney, who can sign each bill into effect, though a potential governor’s veto looms following his similar denial of marijuana legalization last May.
Following the Senate’s passage of HB 1 and 2, a spokesperson for Gov. Carney noted that he has not yet decided how he will act on the legislation.
