A man was denied the opportunity to retrieve his horse’s remains from a landfill following a ruling in the Delaware Court of Chancery on Jan. 3. Brenton Marckese, 34, of Bear, filed a lawsuit asking the court to allow him to exhume the body of his Clydesdale, named Michigan Breeze, who was buried last month at the Sandtown Landfill in Felton, according to court documents.
- That’s just cruel. What could it possibly hurt to help this man get proper closure!? The thought of his horse being buried in a landfill is heartbreaking and unnecessary. — Danae M. D’Ortona Buckson
- I’m so sorry the horse ended up there for whatever reason. It would have been much better had he been given the respect of burying his friend; however, that poor man does not want to see the state that his horse was left in. That would be a sight he would have nightmares about. — Chelle Bachman
- Whether the pet is 5 pounds or 800 pounds, it’s a pet and was loved by this man. Whatever judge or chancellor denied this man to lay his family member to rest doesn’t need to be on the bench! So disgusting! So much for common sense. — Danree Fjelsted Heath
- Simply disgusting. — Steve Johns
