ChristianaCare announced Thursday that it will join a growing number of health care systems across the nation that are requiring all its caregivers to be vaccinated for COVID-19. All employees must receive their first dose of a two-dose vaccine or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson by Sept. 21. The policy defines caregivers as all ChristianaCare employees (regardless of the type of work they do), medical-dental staff, residents, students, contracted employees, temporary labor workers, volunteers and vendors.
- Hope they lose a lot of employees. — Wes Johnson
- Oh, they will!! — Jennine Santoro Gordon
- Me, too. If you don’t follow the science, I don’t want you taking care of me. — Chris Bruno
- So it’s good that there will be less health care workers? I mean, I get it that they maybe shouldn’t have to get the vaccine. But be glad you’re healthy. Or I at least hope you stay healthy. — Julie French Pugh
- And a ton more to replace them. Did you just hear yourself? God forbid you don’t need a bed. — Susan Glenn Lambert
- This is great news. I hope all major employers start requiring proof of vaccinations as a requirement of employment. — Jackie Zisterer
- Weird how hospitals can force people to take the vaccine, but the FDA hasn’t approved the vaccine yet. It’s still in the experimental stages technically. — Kelly Lord
- None of this makes sense. Vaccinated or not, you can still contract and transmit the virus. It’s a personal choice. Let them make their own. — Ralph Parker
- Surely, there are exemptions. Use one. — Mary Crossan Criscuolo
- They’ll lose employees due to taking away their rights to make their own choice. — Melinda Sansone Meding
- How can this vaccine be forced on employees when it isn’t even FDA-approved? This is not right. — Patty Wright
- It’s not being forced. Get the vaccine or get another job where you won’t put other people at risk. — Gary Greer
