Posted

More than 100,000 families in Delaware will get checks in July, as the federal government doles out child tax credit monies. That will invest more than $42 million to help 169,000 children in the First State, according to the White House, which issued fact sheets for every state as payments have begun rolling into bank accounts.

  • Who is paying for all of this magic money? — Jon Walczak
  • Those with no kids. — Michael Campbell
  • Same as the way you got your stimulus. — Richard Damron
  • You had the option to do this years ago, just change your W-4. — Amy Walton
  • This is an unfunded giveaway. At least until they figure out how to raise taxes without telling anyone. — Chris Ostrom
  • That would be an easy fix, and they should tell everyone. They can resend that massive tax cut gifted Big Business and the wealthy by one-and-done   Trump. Doing that would fund this program. And no, I’m not eligible for any of it. — Michael Jones
  • Tax cuts don’t need to be “funded” because it’s not the government’s money to begin with. How do you not know this?! — Rob Holley
  • Reversing the giveaway to the uber-wealthy and Amazon. I know who’s not paying for it: Trump. He doesn’t pay taxes. What has happened to the Republican Party? — Tommy Bou
  • The people with kids that pay taxes. It’s a child tax credit. — Kevin K.C. VanBuskirk
