OCEAN CITY — Registration opens May 22 for a maximum of 40 students in grades 5-11 interested in a free robotics and golf camp through Schoolars4STEM. The dates are Saturdays June 22, 29, July 6 and July 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year’s theme is “So You Think You Can Drone?” and will be held at the Ocean City Golf Club with free transportation available as well as food provided.

Drone handling and code writing for autonomous flight will be part of the lessons learned along with competitions, games and instruction in how to play golf. Students are asked to not miss more than one session as each one builds on the one from the prior week.

Somerset County students will be bused from Crisfield High School, the Marion Fire Department and Washington High School. Registration is online at https://tinyurl.com/372zpbdh or call Nicole Turner at 410-251-8821 or email schoolars4stem@gmail.com.

This is the third year for a summer golf/STEM camp. SchooLARS4STEM is a grassroots mentoring program geared toward historically underserved and underrepresented students on Maryland’s Lower Shore and Accomack County.
