Smyrna shooting leaves man seriously injured

SMYRNA - A 45-year-old man was shot multiple times in his upper torso and extremities Friday, Smyrna Police spokesman Lt. Brian Donner said.

Officers responded to a business responded to a business in the 200 block of First Avenue for a reported shooting at around 10 a.m., police said. The man was transported by private vehicle to the Bayhealth Emergency Room and then transferred to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in serious condition.

There are currently no suspects, Lt. Donner said. The victim is cooperating with police, he said.

Investigation is ongoing and police asked anyone with information to call Detective M. Sarkissian at 302-653-9217.
