GEORGETOWN — A 19-year-old Georgetown man was arrested Thursday in connecting with a shooting incident on Sussex Central High on Feb. 27, Delaware State Police said.
According to police, Gerod Sturgis drove a vehicle from the scene of a shooting at the school located at 26026 Patriots Way. A 15-year-old male passenger was arrested earlier and charged with four counts of first-degree reckless endangering and one count of criminal mischief.
Police said the juvenile remains committed at Stevenson House Detention Center.
Mr. Sturgis was charged with possession of a firearm in a safe school zone, second-degree conspiracy and hindering prosecution. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 secured bond.
No injuries were reported.
