Jamie Trabaudo’s six goals paced the Polytech High girls’ lacrosse team to a 20-8 victory over Ursuline Academy in a nonconference matchup on Thursday afternoon.

Alison McKay and Madilyn McKay each netted four goals while Kathryn Richardson scored three times. Morgan Cook, Camryn Dennis and Madison Knight had a goal apiece as the Panthers moved to 5-0.

Cape Henlopen 23, Sussex Academy 0: Evelyn Shoop and Cailey Thornburg each had four goals as the Vikings remained unbeaten.

Alison Palmer scored three goals and Cape (7-0) got two-goal performances from Tess Bernheimer, Lizzie Frederick, Korinne LeMaire and Lindsay Monigle.

BOYS, Delmarva Christian 10, Christiana 3: Parker Thoroughgood scored four goals to lead the Royals to their first win of the year.

Hunter Smith, Rimmon Mall and Trevor Davies each contributed a pair of goals.

Baseball

Lake Forest 9, Woodbridge 4: Tyler Collins went 4-for-5 with three doubles and a triple to help Lake Forest earn the win in a Henlopen Conference Southern Division contest.

Chase Marvil went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Woodbridge.

Middletown 2, Smyrna 1: The Eagles dropped their first game of the year thanks to Middletown’s two-run third inning.

Jared Gillis had a single and a stolen base for Smyrna. Middletown was led by Cole Dunn who gave up one hit in a complete game effort.

Sussex Tech 5, Dover 3: Matthew Warrington had 12 strikeouts to pick up the Henlopen North win against Dover.

Trent Hearn and Justin Hill scored two runs for the Ravens.  Jordan Marvel, Kyle Lux and Cole Collins each had RBI base for Sussex Tech.

Dmitri Floyd had a solo homerun and Tyler Rosello had a two-RBI double to lead the Dover offense.

Milford 11, Seaford 1: Mike Saxon scattered four hits over five innings to earn the Henlopen South win.

Tommy Jordan and Ethan Hurd finished with three hits and two RBIs each.  For Seaford, Dylan Allen doubled in a run.

St. Thomas More 10, McKean 0: Ben Stant pitched a two-hit shutout to earn his first win of the season.

Stant struck out eight and also drove in two runs with a double in an eight-run fourth inning. Patrick Magee and Travis Ziegler both went 2-for-4, with one RBI apiece.

Laurel 9, Delmarva Christian 8: The Bulldogs edged Delmarva Christian in a nonconference contest Thursday.

Softball

Milford 17, Seaford 0: C.J. Kohel hit a first inning grand slam that helped propel the Buccaneers to their first victory of the year.

Megan Fry and Nia Bowe also had home runs for Milford. Ayanna Cannon doubled for Seaford.

Delmarva Christian 18, St. Peter & Paul (Md.) 2: Camryn Thompson and Siera Jones combined for a no-hitter, striking out five while giving up no earned runs.

Offensively the Royals were led by Siera Jones, Bec Hastings, Jordyn DiFava and Haley Niethammer with three hits apiece. Hastings and DiFava had three RBIs each.  Niethammer and Malaurie Noble had two RBIs each.

St. Thomas More 22, McKean 4: Kara Scangelli had 15 strikeouts in the Ravens’ nonconference victory.

Hodgson 4, Delmar 3: The Wildcats led by two heading into the final inning but Hodgson scored three in the final at-bat.

Tracy Pleasanton struck out eight for Delmar.

Girls’ soccer

Smyrna 6, Polytech 0: Casey Bell’s hat trick highlighted a six-goal second half by the Eagles.

Marissa McClenton scored a pair of goals while Michelle Jong had one.

Dover 6, Sussex Central 0: Kathryn Ford paced the Senators with four goals and Taylor Hutchins scored twice in the win.

Lake Forest 7, Milford 2: Hannah Fox had four goals and Lauren Sharp chipped in a pair for the Spartans.

Julianna Tyndall also scored for Lake Forest.

Women’s lacrosse

Salisbury 19, Wesley 2: The Wolverines fell to one of the nation’s best squads, No. 4-ranked Salisbury on Thursday.

Brianna Bacon netted both of Wesley’s goals, including one on a free-position shot. Maddison Cypher picked up a pair of ground balls, pulled down a draw control, and recorded a caused turnover. Savannah Clough made 12 saves for the Wolverines in net.

College baseball

Susquehanna 18, Wesley 9: Six different Wolverines recorded multi-hit games including Christopher Seibert who mashed his eighth home run of the season, but it wasn’t enough to take down the pesky Crusaders as the home team earned the victory.

Five different Wolverines made appearances on the mound with Eric Willey finishing the game as the only one not to allow an earned run. The senior tossed a scoreless ninth inning, fanning two Crusaders.
