Lake Forest High defeated Milford High, 13-7 in a Henlopen Conference boys’ lacrosse contest on Friday night.

The Spartans took an 5-4 lead into halftime and pulled away, scoring four goals in each the third and fourth quarters.

Smyrna 10, Tatnall 9: Wes Odgen’s goal with an assist from Zach Haas in overtime allowed the Eagles to edge Tatnall.

Jake Kaiser, Jacob Soroko and Brian Davis scored twice for Smyrna while Jason Kaiser, Zachary Haas and Jonathan Guzman added a goal apiece.

Charles Deslongchamp made 14 saves in net for the Eagles.

Salesianum 16, Cape Henlopen 4: The defending state champions earned the victory in a rematch of last year’s title game.

Baseball

Cape Henlopen 5, Woodbridge 0: David Erickson pitched a complete game one-hitter facing the minimum 21 batters while striking out 10 to lead the Vikings to the victory.

Drew Mulcahy and Austin Elliott led Cape at the plate each going 2-for-3 with a run scored and one RBI each.  Rickangelo Thomas had the lone hit for Woodbridge.

McKean 5, Delmarva Christian 0: Kyle Briggs doubled for the Royals but they were held scoreless in a nonconference matchup.

Softball

Sussex Tech 12, Milford 0: Rylee Shockley homered for the Ravens who jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first two innings.

Delmarva Christian 21, McKean 1: Siera Jones didn’t allow a hit and struck out seven in five innings of work.

Offensively, the Royals were led by Cameron Breasure (two triples two RBIs), Jordyn DiFava (four RBI), Bec Hastings (4-for-4, two RBIs) and Malaurie Noble (three RBIs, three runs).

College lacrosse

WOMEN, Delaware 12, James Madison 8: The Blue Hens grabbed the momentum early and never let go Friday evening as Delaware defeated James Madison.

The win halted an eight-game losing streak to the Dukes, is the first over JMU since 2009 and the first-ever at Delaware Stadium since the Hens began play there in 2011.

Senior Casey Lyons led the Blue Hens (10-6, 2-3 CAA) with her fourth hat trick of the season by notching three goals and an assist. All of her goals came in the first half and included her milestone 100th career tally at 9:02 in addition to a show-stopping over-the-shoulder, behind-the-back goal at 1:50.

Junior Jamie Schwartz tied a career-high with a season-best four assists while also posting a goal of her own.

Senior Shannon Hawley and junior Coley Ricci contributed two goals and an assist apiece in the win.

Defensively, sophomore Taylor Carpentier stopped nine JMU shots for her 10th win of her debut season with the Hens.

Brooks Lawler recorded three goals for the Dukes (8-8, 4-1 CAA) while Haley Warden and Jaci Gordon notched two goals apiece. Warden joined Taylor Gress in controlling four draws each.

College baseball

Wesley game suspended: The Wolverines’ game with Frostburg State on Friday was suspended due to heavy storms in the area.

The game will be resumed at 10:30 a.m. in the bottom of the ninth with the game knotted at 13-13.
