I just want to say thank you to Nikki Miller. With all the talk of failures in education, I would like to counter that with something good.
Back when I was in high school, Dr. Miller was more than just my principal; she was a safe space. She was someone I could talk to, lean on and learn from. She used to say she saw potential in me.
Her support didn’t end at graduation. She wrote letters of recommendation, cheered me on through college and reminded me that I was capable of more.
Now, I’m a teacher — because she showed me what leadership, kindness and real impact look like. Thank you, Dr. Miller, for helping me find my path. I hope I make my students feel half as seen as you made me feel.
