Requests for proposals sought for venue plan at Crisfield City Dock

CRISFIELD — Professional architectural and design engineers are wanted to submit proposals to prepare conceptual designs for an outdoor multipurpose venue area on the Crisfield waterfront.

The intent is to establish a space at the depot and City Dock that will be more inviting for residents and visitors and be available for events.

Funding is through a $100,000 bond bill approved in 2021 through the efforts of Sen. Mary Beth Carozza. The goal is to incorporate the selected design when the City Dock is elevated and repaired through a $2 million federal earmark approved in March.

Although not required interested contractors are invited to attend a pre-bid meeting 9 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at the City Dock. Bids are due 4 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at City Hall but will not be opened publicly.

The Mayor and City Council will select a design concept with input from the community as bidders will be asked to give public presentations of their work. Costs will be 60% of the evaluation criteria with qualifications of the respondent, approach to providing services and innovative and/or creative approaches making up the other 40%.

Grants Administrator Jennfer Merritt is the point of contact for this request for proposals which is on the city’s website. She can also be reached at jmerritt@crisfieldcityhall.com.
