SEAFORD — TidalHealth Nanticoke began renovations to the fourth and fifth floors Dec. 7 that will result in the temporary relocation of two services over the next 24-36 months.
The work, to enhance the safety, appearance and delivery of health care, will impact the Specialty Surgical and Robotics Unit and the Obstetrics Unit.
The relocations of these areas will be handled in three phases. First, starting Thursday, the Specialty Surgical and Robotics Unit will move from the fifth floor to the first floor and into the former Pediatrics Short Stay Unit.
Those renovations are expected to take four months. Once complete, the Obstetrics Unit will follow a similar move to the same first-floor area, followed by a second move of the Specialty Surgical and Robotics Unit back downstairs for a final refurbishing of its permanent site.
While the renovations are underway, TidalHealth team members, including its security officers, will assist visitors, and signage will be posted.
In each move, the health care teams working on those units will relocate with the patients, resulting in no lapse or change in the quality of care.
