Rehoboth Beach receives second consecutive budget presentation award

The City of Rehoboth Beach received its second consecutive Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for its fiscal year 2022-23 budget

The award represents an organization’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting according to Government Finance Officers Association. To earn recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and serve effectively as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.

“The City of Rehoboth Beach is proud to offer a high level of clarity, transparency, and detailed information about the city’s financial plan through its annual budget document,” Interim City Manager Evan Miller said. “I’m proud that our finance department and all of our departments, really, have worked hard to make our budget document an attractive and effective communication tool.”

Last year, approximately 1,700 government organizations received the award throughout the United States and Canada. In Delaware, the City of Rehoboth Beach was the smallest government organization recognized, while Sussex County, New Castle County, and the city of Wilmington also received awards.
