Red knot numbers grow in Delaware Bay, but population remains historically low

Advocates: As birds’ food source, horseshoe crabs and their eggs need to be left alone

Red knots’ population has increased since 2021 but is still at historically low levels, according to the Delaware Bay Shorebird Project, which has assessed the birds’ numbers for 26 years.
