Question of the Day: Should non-resident artificial entities be given a vote?

Posted

Here is the Question of the Day:

House Substitute 1 for House Bill 121 has been voted out of committee and placed on the Ready List in the Delaware House of Representatives. The bill seeks to change the City of Seaford Charter to allow "artificial entities, limited liability corporations' partnerships, and trusts to vote in Municipal elections held in Seaford following the principle of ‘one person/entity/one vote,’” and revise the definition of residents to be “Every natural person, male or female.” Should non-resident, non-human entities be allowed to vote in town elections?
