Perez is TidalHealth Peninsula Regional’s December Sunshine Awardee

SALISBURY – Dasha Perez, patient care tech in the Emergency Department, has been selected as TidalHealth Peninsula Regional's December 2023 Sunshine Award recipient for her professionalism, kindness and compassion.

A coworker who nominated her wrote:

“I have had the pleasure of working with Dasha over the last few months, and she truly embodies TidalHealth's motto "we bring our hearts to work and show we care.

Dasha clocks in with a smile on her face that never leaves. She is constantly engaged in her work, caring for the patients she is assigned to and the coworkers in her area.

As a patient care tech in the emergency department, Dasha faces many tasks. Even when deep in her own work, she never denies a coworker in need.

Recently, in the middle of her assignment, Dasha walked past a room in which I was completing a full cardiac workup. There were visitors bedside that were distraught about their father’s condition. Dasha put the stocking cart aside and came into the room to help me complete the diagnosing EKG, and lab work, and allowed me to discuss with the family their father’s condition and the tests we were completing.

This small gesture is one of many ways Dasha regularly steps up. She’s an asset to the emergency department and our entire healthcare team.”

Ms. Perez was honored in a ceremony before her coworkers and presented with fresh flowers, a pin and a certificate recognizing her exceptional devotion to team and patient care.
