GEORGETOWN – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returned to Georgetown Speedway Friday for a racing venue highlighted by the 49-lap feature that was won by Ricky Thornton Jr., who led from start to finish in collecting the $19,049 winner’s share.

Serving as the grand marshal for the evening was NASCAR Hall of Fame 2024 inductee Donnie Allison., who signed autographs and posed with fans for photos.

NASCAR drivers Ross Chastain and Kyle Larson competed in the late model division.  Chastain placed second in the B-main and did not advance to the main event, while Larson ran as high as fifth, but did not to finish.

Devin Moran placed second, Garrett Alberson was third followed by Jonathan Davenport and local favorite Ross Robinson, according to results from the speedway.

Mr. Chastain, an ambassador for the Delaware Office of Highway Safety to promote safe driving,  also signed autographs before the racing action began.
