GEORGETOWN — Finding other conditions covered the only real sticking point of the proposed Nanticoke Indian Cultural Community Center on John J. Williams Highway, which was the building size, the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission removed the hinderance allowing the expansion to proceed.
The Nanticoke Indian Association sought a zoning variance to address a specific size condition limiting it to a 20-foot by 50-foot structure on the nearly one acre lot.
Instead, the commission removed that specific condition, finding other applicable sections of code, like parking requirements, would allow the association to get the facility in the size it sought while still adhering to county code.
