MILLVILLE - A 41-year-old Millsboro man was arrested on a second-degree assault charge following an incident at Hooked Up Ale House Saturday night.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said troopers were dispatched to the restaurant on Town Center Road for a disorderly person complaint at approximately 7:45 p.m. and arrived to find a 26-year-old Bethany Beach man unconscious in the parking lot and being treated by medical personnel. He was transported by an ambulance to an area hospital and then transferred to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

William L. Mitchell, a Hooked Up Ale House employee, allegedly punched the 26-year-old man once, knocking him to the ground.

Mr. Mitchell later turned himself in to Troop 4, where he was charged. Mr. Mitchell was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $4,000 secured bond.

Police said the 26-year-old man had been escorted from the establishment by management after appearing to be highly intoxicated and acting disorderly. Police said he was yelling obscenities outside the restaurant, among other alleged inappropriate behavior. Active warrants are on file for charges of second-degree indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
