Milford man facing multiple felony charges

MILFORD — A 34-year-old Milford man was arrested on multiple felony charges Wednesday, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

At approximately 8:29 p.m., troopers attempted to contact Edris E. Correa in the area of Allen Way regarding an active warrant out of Sussex County Superior Court, Cpl. Pepper said.

As troopers attempted to contact Mr. Correa, he exited his vehicle, fled on foot and refused to obey several commands to stop, police said. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect emerged from an apartment and was taken into custody.

Police located a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with four rounds, along with approximately 356.82 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Cpl. Pepper said.

Mr. Correa was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7, Dover, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $52,251 cash bond.
