Posted

MIDDLETOWN — Four candidates are vying for three spots on Middletown Town Council during an election that will be held Monday, March 4.

Voting can be done from noon to 8 p.m. at Middletown Town Hall, 19 W. Green St.

Incumbents Bruce Orr and Craig Sherman are trying to retain their seats while challengers Jenn Parrish and David W. Thomas are aiming to join council. The positions are for two years.

Unofficial results will be announced following the election, and will be certified by the town’s election board at the next council meeting on March 11.

After newly elected members join town council, Mayor Ken Branner will select the vice mayor, treasurer and secretary.

Current council member Aaron Blythe, Drew Chas and James Royston, along with Mayor Branner are serving terms from 2023-25.

At each general town of Middletown municipal election, every citizen of the incorporated limits of Middletown, has attained the age of 18 years, and who resides in town, can vote. The inspector and judges of the election decide the validity and legality of the votes offered.

Absentee ballots are always available for town elections. To receive an absentee ballot, residents must file an absentee ballot request form with the Town.
