Man shot in Smyrna, detectives searching for suspect

SMYRNA – Smyrna Police detectives are investigating a non-fatal shooting that took place late Saturday night, according to Lt. Brian M. Donner, spokesman for the police department.

Lt. Donner said that officers responded to the 400 block of W. North St. at around 9:30 p.m. for a reported shooting.

They found a 36-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his extremity.

Officers rendered medical aid until the victim was taken to a local hospital for further treatment. He remains there in stable condition.

There are currently no suspects and detectives are receiving limited cooperation from the victim.
