Maces Lane High School Class of 1968 celebrates 55th reunion

The Maces Lane High School Class of 1968 recently held its 55th class reunion at Meadow Cedar Rod and Gun Club.

Approximately 50 people were in attendance, of which 27 were classmates from the Class of 1968.

Classmates traveled home from as far away as Florida, Georgia, Alabama, New Jersey and Delaware for the afternoon event.

The event began with a meet-and-greet session with appetizers, followed with an opening prayer and program reminiscent of the high school days and class history, with a tribute to the teachers, and calling the name of each deceased classmate with a floral arrangement.

There was a buffet dinner provided, with DJ music and dancing for the evening. The buffet dinner was supplied by India Thomas of Thomas Family Catering, daughter of Jonathan Thomas, a graduate of an earlier Class of 1966.

The music was provided by Edward Pinder Jr., son of classmates Glenda and Edward Pinder Sr.

After 55 years, some classmates discovered that the songs they used to listen and dance to had become too long.

Each class committee performed their task to make the afternoon event a combined enjoyable success.
