Lewes Library hosts Lymes disease conference

Posted

LEWES — According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Delaware ranks eighth in the nation in Lymes disease cases, which caused the state to form an oversight board, which is hosting Lyme Aware in Delaware on Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Lewes Public Library.

“This kind of conference has never been done because there’s no board in the country like this one,” Judy Setting, chairwoman of the Delaware Lyme Disease Oversight Board said.

Conference topics range from Delaware Lyme Law history to diagnostic methods to treatment options and efficacy.

“It’s not an easy diagnosis, it can be very complex and isn’t always clear cut,” Mrs. Setting said.
