Kent County Public Library offering free ASL class

DOVER — The Kent County Public Library will be offering a free four-week virtual course on Basic American Sign Language beginning Tuesday, March 9 at 6 p.m.

The course will be conducted via Zoom, an online meeting platform. Participants, age 15 and up, will learn the American Sign Language (ASL) manual alphabet, various basic greetings, how to form basic ASL sentence structures and more as taught by a certified ASL instructor from Signing Basics, LLC.

The course will also include digital “handouts,” as well as access to practice videos. Limited space available, preregistration with an email address is required. Registrants will receive the meeting ID and passcode from Signing Basics to join the program the day prior to the first session. Registration is available online at www.tinyurl.com/KCPLcalendar or by calling Kent County Public Library at 744-1919. Participants should plan to attend all 4 sessions of the course (March 9, 13, 23, 30). No make up for participant missed sessions.
