It’s been years since the church and school on either side of Rt. 16 from Cambridge to Church Creek, a main artery of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, have been in regular use.
Yet, the restored one room schoolhouse and church still serve as vital bookends, telling the story of the tightly knit African American community they served, known as Christ Rock.
