DUBLIN (AP) — Ireland maintained its undefeated record at home against Argentina in an impressive 42-12 victory in Nations Championship rugby on Friday.
The Irish conceded the first try then gradually buried the Pumas with clinical finishing in the 22 that netted a bonus-point six converted tries, including Hugo Keenan's first international hat trick.
The Pumas' strongest lineup all year had high hopes of a first win in Dublin over Ireland in 12 attempts but they struggled in the lineouts — lost five throw-ins — and holding their discipline under pressure: Two yellow cards and 14 penalties.
Argentina's record fell to one win in seven tests this year. The Pumas go to Italy next. Ireland welcome Fiji.
